SWAN sponsored programs and events...past and present.
2018 Wellness Symposium
SWAN launched it’s first wellness symposium in September 2018. Over 75 community members gathered to collaborate and share ideas about community wellness. As a result, SWAN gained valuable information and insight regarding the needs and desires of our local residents.
SEED Media Camp
In August of 2018 SWAN partnered with Providence Valdez Medical Center, Providence Valdez Counseling Center and Seed Media to host a Seed Media Camp free to local youth. A couple dozen students ranging from 12-18 years of age took part in a three day event in which they actually became the creative producers, directors, camera operators, grips, gaffers, actors and actresses on a project. In the end, they created a powerful, relevant and fresh 60 second Public Service Announcement (PSA) focused on the importance of reaching out and helping those in need.
